About TMA
The name Trinity is based upon the highest three. If you take all the Martial Arts in the world you can categorize them into three groups, Striking, Grappling, and Weapons. At Trinity Martial Arts the student will learn a foundation based belt ranking system that will progressively add more difficult techniques and mental requirements. The three styles the student will learn are Tae Kwon Do, Arnis, and Jiu Jitsu.
Tae Kwon Do
Tae Kwon Do comes from Korea. It is an ancient Martial Art which focuses on long, low stances and high kicks. The system is called Modern Chang Moo Kwan, (a clear path) an updated form of old Tae Kwon Do that can find its root before World War II; it has more hand techniques and longer lower stances then found in Tae Kwon Do today. Tae Kwon Do encorporates self-defense techniques by incorporating real life situations.
Arnis
Modern Arnis is an art from Grand Master Remy Presas a native Filipino who traveled around the Philippines and combined knowledge from all the islands the different styles of escrema, cane fighting, and at its highest levels short sword and knife fighting. This is a soft fluid art which is a great compliment to Tae Kwon Do, known as a hard and powerful art.
Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has become the fastest growing Martial Art thanks to the fighting shows on TV which is kind of ironic because the direct translation means the “soft art.” The fundamental belief of Jiu Jitsu is to win by not hurting your opponent with submissions. This art mostly focuses on how to protect yourself if you end up on the ground; this looks similar to wrestling but is much different.
Ever Expanding
The world of knowledge is ever expanding and so are we. Our goals are to stay up to date with the most current information of physical fitness science and mental development.

Snow Closures
I love Washington, but sometimes not the weather. If you are ever wondering if the school is closed due to weather, please check Arlington School District for closures. If it a late start call TMA. If it is an emergency buss schedule (early out of school) we will be closed. Please note; never put yourself at risk to come to class. We have make-up classes that you’re more then welcome to attend.

Testing
Often time I get the question, “How long until I'm black belt?” the answer is most of the time 5 years. It is proper etiquette not to ask to test but show you want to test by giving 110% in class. There are requirement sheets that will tell you the things you will need to learn before progressing to the next rank. The three most fundamental things you must learn is form, hand/foot technique, and mental requirements.
Please note testing fees are diffrent per rank. They will be on your requirement sheet.

Testimonials

Watching a child's transformation in life is truly amazing!
Thanks to Chris and Tiffany at Trinity Martial Arts I have seen an amazing transformation in my son in a very short time. As a parent you know your child inside and out, you know they have the skills but learning to apply them to life in a positive way is hard to teach. Brice came into class as a shy child lacking in his personal self confidence. I have seen my son use the skills that he learned in class about respect and healthy ways to focus his energy into something positive. He is a more confident person and is becoming a stronger person both internally and externally.
Chris is a wonderful instructor that cares about the students. He has a wonderful way of seeing the potential in each student. He takes the time with each person to insure that their personal goals are met.
Brice is finding a new extended family in his martial arts classes. He looks forward to every class.
