About TMA
The name Trinity is based upon the highest three. If you take all the Martial Arts in the world you can categorize them into three groups, Striking, Grappling, and Weapons. At Trinity Martial Arts the student will learn a foundation based belt ranking system that will progressively add more difficult techniques and mental requirements. The three styles the student will learn are Tae Kwon Do, Arnis, and Jiu Jitsu.
Tae Kwon Do
Tae Kwon Do comes from Korea. It is an ancient Martial Art which focuses on long, low stances and high kicks. The system is called Modern Chang Moo Kwan, (a clear path) an updated form of old Tae Kwon Do that can find its root before World War II; it has more hand techniques and longer lower stances then found in Tae Kwon Do today. Tae Kwon Do encorporates self-defense techniques by incorporating real life situations.
Arnis
Modern Arnis is an art from Grand Master Remy Presas a native Filipino who traveled around the Philippines and combined knowledge from all the islands the different styles of escrema, cane fighting, and at its highest levels short sword and knife fighting. This is a soft fluid art which is a great compliment to Tae Kwon Do, known as a hard and powerful art.
Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has become the fastest growing Martial Art thanks to the fighting shows on TV which is kind of ironic because the direct translation means the “soft art.” The fundamental belief of Jiu Jitsu is to win by not hurting your opponent with submissions. This art mostly focuses on how to protect yourself if you end up on the ground; this looks similar to wrestling but is much different.
Ever Expanding
The world of knowledge is ever expanding and so are we. Our goals are to stay up to date with the most current information of physical fitness science and mental development.
Children's Class
Ages 6 through 12.
Trinity Martial Arts is a family school and we put a lot of focus on the children’s classes because it is such a crucial time for development. The children’s classes focus significant time and energy to create a fun and safe environment to develop our children into Martial Artists.
For child development, the curriculum is seamlessly embedded to teach discipline, leadership, goal setting, proper use of martial arts, and how to interact positively with others.
The curriculum has strong foundation of Tae Kwon Do which includes forms, kicks, blocks, striking, and stances. At yellow belt the student will begin to learn another art called Arnis. This art will consist of mostly of using a cane (wood stick). They will learn things like partner drills, cane forms, partner disarms, and at higher ranks padded stick sparing. At green belt the student will be introduced to sparing with foam dipped pads and the correct protective equipment. At blue belt they will continue to progress through Tae Kwon Do and Arnis, and also begin to learn Jiu-Jitsu in the advanced children’s class at blue belt. Jiu-Jitsu includes techniques to protect your self from the ground. The system is designed to be challenging and to create well-rounded martial artists.
The curriculum is designed to be progressive. They will learn techniques that build upon one another and over time your child will become stronger and more talented in the martial arts. Equally as important as the physical aspects of martial arts your child will learn, is the exposure to a positive social interaction; similar to a family bond, your child will feel comfortable and develop as a person with great qualities like leadership, self-discipline, and confidence.

Testimonials
Last Friday night our twins Mathew and Markus preformed with Kyo Bum Nim Chris At their School Talent Show. One word – amazing! Mark and I could not believe what we saw. We were speechless. Only one year ago the talent show came and went. We encouraged the twins to preform the music, or dance. Battling shyness and confidence for several years it came as no surprise to hear a resounding “No Way”. 6 months later the twins joined Trinity Martial Arts and over the next few months we notice a major change develop in their self confidence. Fast forward now 6 months into Trinity Martial Arts the twins approached us with excitement wanting so bad to preform! Not only did they preform with Chris' leadership, but they wow'ed the crowed and us! My girlfriend emailed me to say “the boys where sensational at the talent show! My mom and dad both complimented them!” When they finished their performance I wanted to run back and hug Chris and thank him for the amazing transformation he has been a major part of. The rest of the night I was speechless and tearing. It has been a very long road battling shyness. Gowning up painfully shy it means so much to me. For the twins to tell us how much they love Trinity Martial Arts, Feel safe, and TMA is like a second family is the icing on the top! Thank you Chris and Tiffany, from the bottom of our hearts.
Sincerely Kris & Mark Johonson
